Caroline’s first 100 days

Hi, Laura here. I got to meet Caroline in the office this week and am really happy I could have a chat with her. It’s always nice to put a face and a real person behind the short Slack messages. And Caroline is exactly the kind of person who makes you glad you made the time.

Caroline und Laura

Caroline joined us on the 1st of March. She had experience in project management and social media at an agency, which gave her a solid communications foundation. But at some point, she realised she wanted more. Well, more than just wearing the Social Media hat. Understanding more about the world of performance marketing, getting more clarity on how KPIs actually work, and having more of a sense of how to look at numbers and move them. That’s a pretty big step! It takes a certain kind of person to look at what they’re good at and still say: I want to understand and learn more.

Caroline und Jana

She started at almost the same time as Jana, which made the first few weeks a little easier. Having someone to share the learning curve with, compare notes, struggle through the same challenges, and figure things out together, that’s pretty cool.

100 days in and she’s already presenting reports independently. Last week, she delivered her first two solo reports and walked away with great feedback. She is aware, though, and put it well herself: you don’t become an expert overnight. But with the motivation and dedication she brings every single day, she’ll get there faster than she thinks.

Besides crushing her first months at GLADTOBE, she’s also enjoying meeting the team in the office (even if it means commuting an hour to get there, Berlin is huge!). She enjoys the flexibility that comes with the job and feels that even though the team is spread across Germany, the collaboration goes smoothly. She did mention missing Kathrina (her manager) being closer, which is sweet, but as she said herself, we’re pretty good at making remote work feel like it actually works.

Caroline und Kathrina

From our conversation, what came through most clearly was how much she cares. About her colleagues, about the work, about getting better at what she does. She speaks warmly of the people around her and is very attentive. She’s on her path to becoming more and more independent, and the team (and I first in line), is rooting for her every step of the way.

100 days at GLADTOBE, and she is only at the beginning. We couldn’t be happier to have you, Caroline!
